Things are looking up. The gameplay is strictly 2D so it wont be a Soul Calibur style 3D game which was my biggest fear. It appears that there will be 3D effects with a 2D playing field. The art style looks beautiful. I have always been more of a fan of the Third Strike visual style than the Alpha series. Dont get me wronf though I love the Alpha series. I just think the Capcom vs. SNK and Third strike looks trumps the cartoony shit.

Though the screenshot doesn’t answer this question outright, we can confirm that the game’s graphics are polygonal but the gameplay is strictly 2D. There will be new moves, locations, and gameplay features, while the standard six button control scheme remains. Ryu and Ken return along with Chun-Li and Dhalsim, but beyond that the character roster is a mystery.
