Okay lets be serious here for a minute…How many people owned Gears 2 and have already traded it in (my hand is raised)? Now how many people bought COD:WOW and have traded it in (I still have my copy). Seriously COD’s replay value in and of itself is enough to keep you playing forever. As a matter of fact people still play COD4. I don’t hear anyone talking about going back and playing Gears 1…why you might ask…it has no fuckin replay value. Just be honest with yourself. Nazi Zombie is more fun than fighting the horde any day. Fangz do you even own COD?

I did rent Gears beat and return it wasn’t bad but if I got it, it would of been traded in already

Two witnesses right there…plus myself…plus brook…that’s 4 off the bat. I’m not knocking Gears…it was a good game. I’m just saying for myself (and many others) its not a game I just want to keep on playing. There are other shooters I would grab first without hesitation COD: WOW is one of them… Halo 3 is another… Left 4 Dead is a third… and I’m sure when I get Killzone 2 this week I’ll add that one to the list in front of Gears as well.

Games need a certain level of addiction in order for them to be successful long term. COD definitely has that…when that new map pops up in multiplayer its really hard to say no. Same with Halo. I remember being bored out of my mind playing through 20+ rounds of horde mode in Gears. I can’t remember ever feeling bored on COD or Halo…that “Crack Factor” keeps you going for hours…

I played and beat and traded in COD4. I played and beat and traded in COD:WAW. I played, beat, kept and am still playing Gears of War 2. And I put easily over 100 hours of gameplay into Gears of war 1. Only reason I dont have gears 1 anymore is cus i lost the disc. But just because of how unique, and how creative the gameplay is, keeps me playing this game. The realism and approach to a war / combat /shooter game is amazing. There’s honestly no other game I’ve ever loved this much, being able to run and take cover and dive and every thing. It really makes you feel a connection to your squad, unlike the CoD games.
I really dont even feel like argueing this point much further, because Gears of War is just so much more polished. Gorgeous, breathtaking graphics that produce awe inspiring, thrilling moments that rival that of hollywood blockbusters. It’s just such a cinematic experience from the campaign to the online gameplay, every thing is so much like a real battlefield and has great moments throughout every battle.
World at War has no cutscenes, it has no memorable moments, I cant even remember the ending of the campaign…And the online play is much too cluttered and hectic. It’s a mess…Yeah you can “unlock” guns but who cares when theres no unique gameplay elements. The combat is too dull.
SpaceBarZ, is horde mode the only online mode you played on Gears2? because it has modes similar to CoD and Halo 3, where you get to vote on maps and have 5on5 deathmatches. also you can choose characters to play as. I’ve found myself so many times saying I’ll play “just one more map” and end up playing for another hour. So it does infact have that “crack factor” you guys are talking about lol.
