I just received the July issue of EGM that features Gears of War 2 on the cover. There are two different covers for this issue much like what they did with the Smash Bros. cover a few months ago. Both covers are Gears of War 2 related so the main feature article is of course about Gears of War 2.
This July issue also has a pretty good but pretty damn obvious (or “DUH!”) article about the Nintendo Wii’s abysmal online services. Too many of us know by now how wack friend codes are when compared to usernames, and howits even that much worse that the codes are different for EACH damn game. Most of us also know how poorly the connections are on games like Smash Bros. with frequent lag and connection dropouts. Like I said, abysmal. I do commend EGM for printing the article. Hopefully someone at Nintendo will take note. I doubt it, but saying something is better than nothing and at least the folks at EGM are saying what far too many of us are thinking.
Other features include a first look at Bioshock for the Playstation 3, Banjo Kazooie, Project Origin, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Check the issue out if you get the chance its worth a look.

Yeah, I read that article as well. They brought up some interesting points, although like they said. Nintendo won’t change anything, I guess Nintendo fans are going to have to wait until the next gen of consoles to get some decent online functionality..
