SEGA Corporation has filed a new application to protect the trademark Dreamcast – sparking rumours that the Japanese publisher is planning on making a shock return to the console manufacturing market with the Dreamcast 2.
The filing could, of course, simply be a further effort from SEGA to protect the Dreamcast name. According to the USPTO the original Dreamcast trademark is still active. However, the two descriptions are very different.

12/07/2007 at 12:44 pm #19662Man the Dreamcast was so advance of it time that it cause Sega to fold. Also, Sega was almost died because of the 6th Generation Console Wars(6GCW) (i.e. Sony Playstation, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64) Alot, of the 2D games that was over in Japan did not make it over here because the President of Sega was focusing on the ability to run in 3D. Another problem they had during the 6GCW was Sony came out the gate first. Sony was at it prime and Sony just was let go from Nintendo when Sony was helping to develop the SNES CD-ROM attachment. I am very interest to see what will happen with this.
I do not want Trophies, Money or not even a title saying I am number "1". You can have your cheap trophies, paper titles, and dingy headbands. I am a "STORY" to my peers, a "LEGEND" for your kids to hear, and a "FOLKLORE" to keep you from dieing with fear - Calvin D. Kates aka Chauncy "TRU" Talon.

(US/EU version shown; the Japanese pad was white.)NiGHTS was introduced alongside an optional game controller, included with most copies of the game. This gamepad featured an analog stick, among the first on any game console (launching around the same time as the Nintendo 64, which featured an analog stick on its standard control peripheral). The stick, D-pad and shoulder triggers were located in an arrangement similar to that of Sega’s later Dreamcast controller.[3]

12/11/2007 at 6:34 pm #19668And you guys said “YALL WAS A BUNCH OF GAMERS” ya need to get your info up on your past present and future. Ever since the SEGA went to an American man (during the Saturn Era) that when SEGA lost it. They was pushing the 3D to much that they was forgetting the great 2D games over in Japan. Also they wanted to keep spending money on those piece of shit cases instead of go cheap like Sony did. Sony is the reason why people isn’t stuck in the bullshit 2D era
