Story
Valkyria Chronicles is set in a fictitious continent reminiscent of 1930s, Europe divided in two and ruled by the Empire and the Federation. The Empire has set its sights on invading a small neutral country called Gallia, which is situated in the middle of the two great empires. The game follows a hero named Welkin and his fellow soldiers of the Federation’s 7th Platoon that are fighting against the Empire, who is intent on unifying the continent under its power. The Federation discovers that the Empire possesses a secret weapon, known as the “Valkyria”- an ancient race with special powers thought to exist only in legends. With this new discovery, the fate of the Federation’s ability to win the war and a hope for a better future hangs in the balance.Gameplay
Valkyrie of the Battlefield features a unique turn-based battle system called BLiTZ (Battle of Live Tactical Zones). In-between turns players are treated to an overhead map view, but zoom in to control each individual unit on the battlefield. Movement and other actions are handled in real time, though limited by an AP gauge that varies for each character. This gauge can recharge even during the same turn as you operate other characters. Additionally, players are in direct control of the characters’ aim, allowing for headshots and other advantages. The environment also factors heavily in combat. In an urban level, for example, snipers can be sent onto rooftops to eliminate unsuspecting enemies below while tanks and other units can outmaneuver enemy positions via the streets.Environment:
Built upon the new “CANVAS” engine, Valkyria Chronicles’ ground-breaking 3D graphics resemble a watercolor painting in motion. Imagine locations throughout Europe ranging from burnt out cities to sprawling hillsides. The possibilities are nearly endless.Characters:
Each of the game’s characters holds a unique role. The two girls in the game provide the short and medium range firepower, using an assault rifle and a machine gun, respectively; the rest of the group’s members, who are men, fill out the sniper, heavy artillery, and tank commander roles. From the game’s creator:
I do not want Trophies, Money or not even a title saying I am number "1". You can have your cheap trophies, paper titles, and dingy headbands. 10/30/2008 at 2:44 pm #30395Man, I loved this demo. I really start to hate Strag-RPG’s. They was trying to go into the passed without finding a way with a future. This game, Valkyria Chronicles, will be SEGA savior from the horrible game, in which SEGA drop 27 million dollar for a flop on, Golden AXE : Beast Rider.

It was an arcade classic in the very early 90’s and was ported over to the Sega Mega Drive. Still one of my favourite games for that system and spawned 2 sequels after it for the Mega Drive and 2 lacklustre others that were released on the PS2 and the newest one Golden Axe: Beast Rider for 360 and PS3.

*sigh of relief*
well just download an emulator and the rom.
There easy to find on the internet.11/03/2008 at 11:58 pm #3069201/21/2009 at 11:05 pm #34055I was really looking forward to finally getting this game and to be honest i am really dissapointed, i must have been reading the wrong shit because i thought it was a proper RPG but now i have realised that all there is to do is fight in battles. There is no running around cities talking to people and finding items. It’s a shame because the graphics are stunning and it would have been great to have been able to explore the world and see what it had to offer. The fact there is no trophy support either means i probably won’t continue with this game.
