THQ have announced the details of the “Classic Fights” section of their upcoming UFC 2009: Undisputed title, revealing the 12 fights you will be able to relive in the comfort of your own armchair.
Wesley Bunn, one of the THQ designers, spoke to MMAFanHouse.com about the concept of the “Classic Fights”.
“We wanted to have fights that were significant in the UFC, that were entertaining, and would pose good game play challenges as well. The goal is to try to replicate the fight as it actually played out, and if you do, you get an unlockable montage of the fight itself.”
The following twelve fights were chosen by both people at THQ and UFC matchmaker, Joe Silva.
Ultimate Fighter 1 Finale: Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar
Ultimate Fight Night 6: Diego Sanchez vs. Karo Parisyan
UFC 66: Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz
UFC 71: Chuck Liddell vs. Rampage Jackson
UFC 76: Forrest Griffin vs. Shogun Rua
UFC 77: Anderson Silva vs. Rich Franklin
UFC 79: Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva
UFC 79: Georges St. Pierre vs. Matt Hughes
UFC 80: B.J. Penn vs. Joe Stevenson
UFC 82: Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson
UFC 83: Matt Serra vs. Georges St. Pierre
UFC 84: B.J. Penn vs. Sean SherkUFC 2009: Undisputed will be out in the shops on May 19th for fans in the US while fans in the UK will be able to pick it up a few days later on May 22nd. This game is shaping up to be one of the best fighting games around and with nice little touches like this included, its only getting better.

Impatient gamers take notice: The highly anticipated release of “UFC 2009 Undisputed” has been moved up several hours by more than 1,300 GameStop units across the U.S.
Available for both the Xbox360 and PlayStation 3, “UFC 2009 Undisputed” will go on sale at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, in the selected units.
A list of all participating outlets is listed on GameStop’s official website.
In addition to early access to “UFC 2009 Undisputed,” buyers who purchase the game through GameStop will have immediate access to Ryan Bader and Efrain Excudero as playable characters. Units purchased from other retailers will have to wait 90 days to access the two “TUF” winners as free downloadable content.
Headquartered in Dallas, GameStop operates nearly 6,000 units worldwide.
BestBuy.com is also offering an enticing special offer for “UFC 2009 Undisputed.” While the nation’s largest retailer of consumer electronics can not boast of exclusive content, Best Buy is offering a nice handful of extras to sweeten the deal.
Buyers who purchase the game through the website will receive a free UFC DVD, a $10 Best Buy gift card and a $10 certificate good toward the purchase of a future UFC pay-per-view event.
More than 80 fighters appear in the debut version of “UFC Undisputed,” which is part of a multi-year deal between the UFC and game developer THQ.
The first UFC-themed title since Global Star’s 2004 “UFC: Sudden Impact,” “UFC 2009 Undisputed” is the most realistic MMA video game ever developed, according to THQ.

i’ve had 2 fights, i fucked up michael bisping with rampage, then i fucked up mir with lesnar, both fights i was just hitting, i can’t get a hang of clinches or takedowns yet, but all in practice i guess…now, GSP vs Matt Serra
man i’m fucking loving this game, i rematched serra with GSP, was trying to work on my takedowns, took him down a few times, had him in full mount but he reversed it into his own full mount, i got up, we pucnhed more i took him down again, got side control was punching away, he managed to get up though, then the round ended…second round starts, straight off the bat i hit a superman punch…OVER he dropped from one superman punch, deadly
