You might know this or not but I am huge MMA fan so when a UFC game was first announced I was hyped. Finally a sports game I was hyped for. Never got a chance to play any of the older games because at that time I was not a fan.
The demo gives you two features an excellent tutorial which covers everything you can thing of that will be necessary for you to know to me successful in the game. Covers navigation, striking, take downs, submissions and much more.
The other feature is a exhibition match between Chuck Liddel and Mauricio Rau. Who had a fight last night at UFC 97 where Rau TKO Liddel. This was a tiny mistake. UFC should of place Rashad Evans and Lyoto Machida since the demo official comes out Wednesday and only preorder holder got early access. So the fight already happen so it would of been better to hype up the next one since they square of for the Light Heavyweight title next month within days after the release.
I gotta say I was a big hesitated about purchasing the game because Martial Arts aint boxing where you just throw punches it is much more complicated overall. But I was glad to see the game play only take a little bit to get used to. Striking is really easy to pick up while other moves are a bit harder to pick up. Submission are also fairly easily to execute but I haven’t submitted anyone yet but had a few attempts. Take downs are a bit harder which requires good timing or some good button mashing when the other fighter is preventing a take down.
One feature I like is when a fighter gets rocked hard the screens turns white and really quite usually at these times the fight is pretty much done. One thing I found frustrating in the game is when I am kicking ass and the other fighter swings a punch and BOOM I am Knock The Fuck Out. But that happens in MMA and the UFC so I cant really get mad but it is frustrating.
All I can say I will be paying EB Games a visit on May 19 to get the game.
