Konami has openly apologised for the problems that have recently crippled Metal Gear Online, citing an unexpected influx of traffic as demand surged for the Gene expansion pack, the first of its kind for the MGS4 inspired multiplayer game.

Both the Metal Gear Online shop and the my Konami site were initially affected once the expansion pack went live on Friday, with the problems eventually taking down the Survival mode which formed the basis of the expansion pack and resulting in errors processing the payment for the package.

“We have been taking numerous corrective measures since the problems initially started,” said the statement on the game’s official site, “but unfortunately there are no permanent solutions we can announce at the moment.” Konami also published a comprehensive timeline of the problems, before concluding “We are currently doing all in our powers to bring a permanent solution to the ongoing problems in the quickest possible time.”

Oh my God.
I can’t believe how bad they have fucked up with this whole MGO scenario.
I haven’t even been bothered to play it since me and Brook got pissed with not being able to set a game up with each other.
