So I’ve been messing with my iPod touch since I jailebroke it for a good 3 hours and to be honest I’m pretty underwhelmed. Maybe I’m just using it wrong but here are my problems.

My whole iPod seems to have slowed down since jailbreaking.

Cydia is super slow. Trying to type anything in the search takes forever.

Some of the themes you can get are cool but other things like genesis emulator etc you have to search for a source, but to get the URL you need to trawl the web to find it. What other way is there?

I downloaded that installous and so far it’s meh. First of all they have got something called a toll bridge where you have to answer a question just to use the damn thing. In order to answer the thing I again had to search the net which took a while. When I finally got in I found the service to be yet again super slow and difficult to use.

I went to download the secret of monkey island game and the link it gave me took me to a site where the file didn’t exist.
Then I tried to download earthworm jim and it took about 10mins just to get to 3% downloaded. Alot slower than the actual app store.

So ye I’m not really feeling it right now. Maybe I will change my mind.
Let me know what your best apps are and where to get them.

stop bitching scat its free lol. I dont use it for gaming. I only play connect four(free) and metal gear solid touch (.99) on my iphone. I hacked my iphone so that I can use my phone as a wireless modem for my laptop whem im on the move. The blacklist appp is good and getting custom ringtones is easier too.

well jailbroken iphones can run apps that do things non jailbroken phones cant do due to at&t and apple restrictions etc.

For example. The iphone blocks you from downloading anything over 10mb’s unless you have wifi or are hooked to a computer. There is a free app you can run on jailbroken phones that causes your phone to bypass that restriction so you can downlaod podcasts, apps etc thats over 10mb over 3g signals as well. comes in handy especially for podcasts.

Theres an app for jailbroken phones that allows you to use your phone as a wireless modem. Super easy and with a click any iphone connected to a laptop can surf the web over 3g. Of course for these you want to have an unlimited data plan but you dont have to have one. Also there the nes, genesis emulators… you can do SSH from your jailbroken phone which is good for rebooting, fixing servers remotely LOL trust me.

Basically theres a whole “store” of mostly free apps you get access to when you jailbreak your phone.
