So not to long ago, Sega decided to release the Genesis (Mega Drive) Ultimate Collection for both Xbox 360 and PS3.
It consisted of about 50 classic games from the Genesis era. It’s not the first time we have got a collection like that, there was another release not too long ago on the PS2 and PS3.
The Ultimate Collection however had updated visuals.

It seems though that this just isn’t enough for Sega.
Apparently they have announced that they are bringing about 7 classic games to Xbox Live over the summer.
These include:

Gunstar Heroes
Altered Beast
Shinobi (arcade version)
Comix Zone
Phantasy Star II
Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Sonic and Knuckles.

Now you may be thinking great, but all those games apart from Gunstar Heroes were released on the Ultimate Collection.
To add insult to injury though, Sega have said that each game will include online play and leaderboards.
Something they didn’t bother to include with the retail release.
Bullshit in my opinion.
First of all, if they can include online play and leaderboards to the arcade releases, then surely they can patch it through also to the people who have already forked over money for the UC. However i highly doubt they will, coz lets face it, they can’t get money like that.
So anyone who wanted to play these games will the online modes will again have to pay at least 400 Microsoft points.
Another thing is, why they releasing the same games. With all the classics the Genesis was home to, we still see the same old stuff.

So let me hear your opinions.

Honestly I would care much for Online play and leaderboards for those games I am happy with the Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection

I was pissed to see Gunstar Heroes not on the Sega Ultimate Collection game.

I do not want Trophies, Money or not even a title saying I am number "1". You can have your cheap trophies, paper titles, and dingy headbands. They are giving you more options, how can you possibly complain about more options? first of all, you got 50 games for 30 bucks, and you’re complaining because they want to re-release the same games for XBLA? It’s like this, you either rebuy them, or don’t, but you certainly have no reason to be complaining about it since you already own the games for around 70 cents a piece.
