Wipeout HD 1.20 Patch Released: Finally We Get Auto Start!
An update to Wipeout HD has been released and while it seems to have caused a few new bugs that may be related to some not yet having the patch its a welcome update. When the patch was first released on Friday I had issues with my PS3 freezing up on the “waiting on x” screen (lower right in pic above) before a match. That seems to have been fixed as I think it was those without the pat...[Read More]
No Charge Planned For Xbox 360 Avatar Clothing
According to X3F, Microsoft’s Xbox product manager in Germany has confirmed that the first few weeks of new avatar gear will be free. After that when Spring hits who knows. More here. I would totally pay to be able to update the way the Avatars move when idle. They all seem to have this feminine idle pose and weird disposition.
Mortal Kombat vs DC Owned By 1UP Staff
While we are still on the subject of 1UP and EGM, I was just watching today’s 1Up show video and during the review coverage of Mortal Kombat vs DC Heroes I noticed that Shane Bettenhousen was wearing a Street Fighter IV hat. Now that is a genuinely funny subliminal I can appreciate. Even funnier than the hat thing is the consensus in the show that Mortal Kombat vs DC is not a serious fightin...[Read More]
EGM May Be Shut Down, 1UP Lives On
According to the New York Times, Ziff Davis CEO Jason Young contends that EGM may soon go the way of the old typewriter, and by that I mean that the print publication known as EGM may be replaced by its all digital counterpart 1up.com. This news makes the current EGM cover almost prophetic. The article states that Ziff Davis is considering taking EGM online only (via 1up.com) but that no decision ...[Read More]
Capcom Wins Dead Rising Lawsuit, Sony Looses $18 Million, Activision Dodges
I figured I would wrap up all the legal related stories on one tight neat post. Capcom recently won their case against the Producer of George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead who sued Capcom claiming that Dead Rising ripped the Dawn of the Dead film. I guess this is likely to mean that we will see the rumored Dead Rising 2 in the future at some point. Sony recently lost a patent lawsuit to Agere...[Read More]
Call of Duty: World at War on South Park

Home Beta Keys Still Going Out
This morning I was greeted to an email from Playstation giving me access to the Playstation Home beta because I downloaded the free Playstation Home Theme in the PSN Store a few months ago. I downloaded the beta and as you can see in the image below I could not get in. Hopefully by this afternoon it will be all good. I think it may take a few hours for them to process my registration before I can ...[Read More]

The PS3 version of Super Street Fighter II HD Remix game will come with an exclusive, free bonus in the form of hip-hop tracks inspired by Street Fighter from DJ Qbert, Redman, Hieroglyphics, and other artists as a digital album download. I guess I am getting it for moth systems now. No word on if there will be custom soundtrack support in the playstation 3 version of the game. I am hoping there w...[Read More]
Gears Of War 2 Dominates Xbox Live Last Week
Contrary to certain predictions made on our last podcast (not by yours truly), Call of Duty: World At War did NOT nominate Xbox live. Gears of War is the clear winner when it comes to unique users and Xbox Live activity for the week of November 10th. Gears of War 2 kicked ass and smashed competition. Lets see how long it rides the number 1 spot. Here are the numbers according to Xbox Live’s ...[Read More]
