This policy explains what information GameManx (“we”) collects when you use gamemanx.com and how it is used.
Information you give us
- Accounts: when you register we store your username, email address, password (encrypted) and any profile details you add, such as your avatar and forum signature.
- Posts and messages: forum topics and replies, comments and private messages you send are stored on our server. Public posts are visible to everyone.
- Contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
- Newsletter: if you sign up for The GameManx Weekly, we store your email address and whether you are subscribed. You are only added after you confirm by clicking the link we email you, and every issue has an unsubscribe link.
Information collected automatically
- IP addresses: recorded with forum posts, comments and contact messages to help prevent spam and abuse. They are visible only to site staff.
- Cookies: used to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.
- Spam protection: login, registration, comment, forum and contact forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes limited technical data to tell people from bots. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Embedded content and other services
Some pages include videos embedded from YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion, and some GameManx videos are delivered from Amazon Web Services (S3). These services may collect data under their own privacy policies when you view that content. Links to ENDSCREEN and JoystickVault include tags that tell those sites the visit came from GameManx.
Email delivery
Emails from GameManx — account and password emails, forum notifications, contact-form messages and the newsletter — are sent through Resend, an email delivery service, which processes your email address and delivery information on our behalf. Newsletter subscriber lists are stored with Resend. The site is also served through Cloudflare, which handles technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages securely.
How long we keep data
Account and post data is kept while your account exists. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. You can ask us to delete your account; public posts may be kept anonymised to preserve discussion history.
Your rights
You can view and edit your profile at any time, and you can ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it using our contact page.
