E3 2009: Batman Arkham Asylum Impressions
I played Batman Arkham Asylum at least once per day over the three days the show floor was open at E3. I gave the game multiple tries because I really wanted the game to resonate with me. Batman Arkham Asylum was a much different game than I had imagined. The game looks great. From a graphics and art style stand point Batman Arkham Asylum is hands down the best Batman game to date. Buyer beware, t...[Read More]
E3 2009: TMNT Smash up Impressions
I’ll cut to the chase on this one. TMNT Smash Up is a multiplayer game that will be coming to the Wii and was one of the biggest disappointments of the show. I played it for about 15 minutes and was shocked at how much of a Smash Bros. Brawl clone it turned out to be. It has the same gameplay style as the Smash Bros. game without the power ups. I think the addition of some over the top power...[Read More]
E3 2009: Split Second Impressions
Not to be confused with Blur, Split Second is a game by Disney studios and the developers of Pure. In my opinion after having played both Blur and Spilt Second I do think that Split Second is more up my alley. Both are arcade style racers and both are aggressive racing games. The art style and car designs all relay really well that the game is a destruction derby type of deal. Your goal is to win ...[Read More]
E3 Best of The Swag Award: Tatsunoko vs Capcom Shirts
So of all the free stuff we received at E3 I must say that these limited edition Tatsunoko vs Capcom shirts were the best. Those Left 4 Dead posters are a close second though. The folks at Capcom were top notch in general at E3 and these shirts just put them over the top in my book. Hit the jump for a look at the back of the shirt.
GameManx Podcast Episode 44: E3 2009 Edition
Finally back from E3 we talk about what we played and didn’t want to play. Overall show impressions, our talks with game developers, and we coin a new gaming term. See a partial list of games we speak on:
PSP Go Fondled: E3 Hands-On Impressions
So the leak was pretty much almost dead on. The PSP Go was announced and then shown at E3. Luckily it was also on display in the Sony area at E3 and I was able to hi-jack play with it for a while. I played Motorstorm: Arctic Edge, and Little Big Planet PSP on it before feeling like a total douche for hogging it. (Stay tuned for impressions on those) I must say in all fairness that photos do not do...[Read More]
New Super Mario Bros. Wii Hands-On Impressions
So Nintendo didn’t listen to us and didn’t announce the Pokemon MMO which I think would have been a MEGATON home run. They did announce a new side scrolling Super Mario Bros. game similar to their Nintendo DS offering from a couple years back. I was able spent some time with the game.
Sony Press Conference… I Need To Attend More Sh*t Like This
I woke up early as sh*t this morning (once again) then Brooklyn and I headed over to the Shrine Auditorium where Sony was holding their annual E3 press conference. I must say…even though Sunday evenings Momma’s Hot Tamales event was an epic fail for Sony in my opinion (some “official” blog that shall remain nameless made the occasion out to be the social event of the year…I warned y’al...[Read More]
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – E3 HD Trailer
This video is no longer available. Here is a new HD trailer for Uncharted 2 that gives insight into the single player campaign. Very cinematic and comes across just like a movie trailer. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is at the top of my most anticipated list.
Wipeout HD Fury: HD Trailer
This video is no longer available. Oddly enough, during the flight to E3 I played Wipeout Pulse on the PSP and wondered if Wipeout HD would ever get a significant update. Well Wipeout Fury is exactly that. Adding zone battles, eliminator and detonator modes, 8 new tracks and 13 new ship the Wipeout HD Fury expansion pack seems like something to get excited over. Check out these screens:
God of War 3 HD Trailer
This video is no longer available. God of War III is shaping up to be a huge release and from the looks of this teaser video it all makes sense.
Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier – HD Trailer
This video is no longer available. This all new Jak & Daxter game for the PSP is supposed to take off where the last game concluded. The game features 5 different planes, and open ended gameplay where you can choose your missions.
