The 3DS is to receive a worldwide price drop as Nintendo are trying to create some momentum for the system.
They have also announced that people who bought the system at launch for full price will receive 20 free games as part of the Nintendo Ambassador Programme. This will include 10 NES titles and 10 Game Boy and Gameboy Advance titles.
Some US titles have already been revealed. For the NES, titles include
Super Mario Bros
Donkey Kong Jr
Balloon Fight
Ice Climber and
The Legend of Zelda
The Gameboy Advance titles are apparently to stay exclusive to people within the programme with no current plans to release the games to the general public. These titles include
Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Metroid Fusion
WarioWare
Mario vs Donkey Kong
I’m happy with Yoshi’s Island but for the UK I do hope they bring Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros. 3 and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Again it seems like a good idea that this price drop is happening considering it was only yesterday that it was revealed that Metal Gear was being pushed back to 2012, I’m not really surprised considering the install base the 3DS has at the moment and the fact it would be going up against the HD version in the MGS Collection which is being released in November, around the same time the 3DS version was meant to be coming out too.
Meanwhile the new Mario 3DS game has been renamed to Super Mario 3D Land is supposed to be dropping in November
and the Mario Kart game has been renamed to simply Mario Kart 7 and due to drop in December.
