you dont have to worry about burn in as much on newer plasma’s. I think it depends on the models and what you use them for.
A cheap plasma will perform better than a cheap LCD but once you get to mid range the LCD will be better. Also LCD’s use about half the energy plasma’s do so over time you wil spend alot more with the plazma via your power bill.
LCD = crisper sharper picture
Plasma = blurrier/softer, deeper blacks (better for movies)
Botttom line. LCD for games and Plasma for movies.

Regardless of what you end up getting try to make sure they have a no image processing mode for when you play 1080p games. That way what you see is exactly what is supposed to be seen. When TV’s add image processing to signals it causes lag. For example the dynamic contrast, or added sharpness, or movie mode, any added image enhancements causes lag so a good HDTV will ahve a mode that allows you to just display AS IS. For Samsungs its called “Just Scan”.
