Just got done playing the demo for this, which is exclusive to Playstation Plus subscribers. Really enjoyed it. My videos are uploading right now and should be up on here tomorrow.
The demo was pretty big as it takes you through some of the World Tour so it includes training games, practice matches and Tournaments.Unfortunately this demo is not Move compatible but Sega have announced that a Move demo will be released before the launch of the game.
It still plays really well with the Dualshock and the game seems to have a lot of modes that will keep us occupied. I enjoyed what I played and can’t wait to pick this up.

Yeeeeee erm, I’m kind of in two minds about getting this game now after reading some of the reviews over the last couple of days. Don’t get me wrong I have been looking forward to this since the announcement and I know reviews are not everything, but it is currently sitting at 71 on metacritic. The main reason I was excited for this game in the first place was because of the Move support and I was under the impression that the game was being built from the ground up with it in mind. However, from what I have been reading the implementation of Move is severely lacking. It’s more waggle than actual skill and you can’t even use it in WORLD TOUR!!!! I mean what the fuck man. You can’t use Move in the games main fucking mode. Apparently it’s limited to exhibition matches and party games. I’m not sure if it can be used online.
If you have kept your pre-order Brook then I will wait on your verdict and I hope you can put up some videos too, but at the moment it looks like I should have just picked up Top Spin 4, by all accounts It’s apparently the superior game, and also has Move support.
I hope once PSN is back up they have a Move enabled demo available for me to try.

well eurogamer is the only site on metacritic i ever even heard of so the verdict is still out. Plus this website praised the move controlls

The development choice of placing the player from a first person perspective and making movement automatic, while showing a racquet silhouette in-front of the player is excellent. No buttons involved, just one-to-one motion control, that while disorientating at first, is best played with enough space and actually attempting proper tennis strokes rather than flailing like an idiot. It’s quite liberating to actually see the one-to-one racquet movement in your hand and play proper tennis shots by applying spin or slice, Single exhibition matches, both one and two player (but no doubles) and the ‘Net Play’ mini-game are excellent at showing off the technology and fun in bursts.”

Hmmmm two very different points of view. Again though, the fact it can’t be used in World Tour absolutely sucks, and if you can’t use it whilst playing online either then I definitely won’t be getting it. Like I said I’ll wait to hear your verdict on it.

Here is a good review of the game. They say the Move controls work, but the dumbass camera angle spoils the whole thing, and from what we can see here, it does look like shit.

yo man i am loving this game. I played it for like and hour and a half yesterday. The graphics are GREAT. The 3D effect is SIIIIICK!
Seriously in 3D this game is like WOW. one of the best 3d games i have played to date. The perspective of the court and the graphics are serious. The move controls were fun to me. The camera in the move mode was fine for me and yes it gets tiring playing it that way. it feels more real with that dynamic camera and I guess they did it to differentiate the game from Wii tennis. They should have put in camera options though like in the other modes.
It would have been great to have the move option to use throughout the tour mode but I think that that’s the only fault in the game. Other than that the game is a surprise hit for me. Online was lag free too and you can play in arcade mode until it finds someone for you to play.
I am going to rent top spin 4 now to compare them but ill be playing this shit outta this game. Custom soundtrack support is there but not in the online mode though like pacific rift.
also you can create your own character and use them in all the modes in the game. lots of options for looks. clothing options are unlocked as you play though the games modes and win. its pretty dope.
yeah but the game itself is fun as hell and honestly yo its a physically intensive game to play so trust me after game 3 you wont be so mad at it. I could not imagine playing over an over with motion. by the third game you would be waggling your wrist anyway. :lol: might as well use a controller.

Hmmmm I’ll wait to hear your impressions of Top Spin and possibly wait for a price drop, but honestly, with LA Noire out this week, and then the likes of Zelda and inFamous 2 dropping in June, I can’t see myself picking this up anymore, which is a shame coz I was looking forward to it. Even though I wouldn’t use Move all the time, I was excited about playing online with you whilst using it, and the fact that you can’t, and you can’t even use it in World Tour is a huge disappointment for me. I thought this was going to be THE game that gets me using Move again, but I guess not 🙁
