This is something i have been thinking about for a while now and is really starting to get on my nerves.
I’m fed up of games being made for one system and then the sequels end up going to a completely different system altogether.
For example, Resident Evil was mainy sony’s when it first came out, even though i remember a few of the games being released on the N64, but most people associated it with with the Playstation, then as the next generaton crept in, the Playstation 2 ended up with getting the crap RE titles whereas the Gamecube, the least successful console of that generation ended up with an incredible remake of the first Resi, plus Resi Zero and Resi 4 (resi 2 and 3 were also released on gamecube but it was just a port and not a remake). Fair enough, 4 eventually got ported over the the PS2 but it took a while. Now they are releasing Resi 5 on PS3 and 360, but no Wii version. obviously the Wii isn’t capable enough to run Resi 5 in it’s current state, but i’m sure you know where i’m coming from.
People who have only ever bought Nintendo systems will have gotten that Resi 1,2,3,4 but no 5, so in order for them to finish the story they need to now go out and buy a brand new system.
I don’t like having games from the same series spread out over different consoles. It really does piss me off.
I’m sure there are more series that have ended up like Resi but i was just using that as an example.
Let me know your thoughts about this, and if you think developers are right to do this to honest hard working consumers who especially at this time with a recession going on may only be able to afford one console.Twitter.com/scatigno1

hence games being spread across different consoles, so every “hard working” consumer can play them
I think the only games that should be on one concole exclusively are first party ones so I don’t have a problem with franchises made by third parties being multi-platform.

well if thats the case then all games should be released on every platform, so as to not leave out people who have only got one console. thats what i mean.
i’m lucky coz i’ve owned all 3 consoles from this generation but it still annoys me to see games move on to other platforms. For example resident evil again. I’m pissed off that the wii is having the Resi 1 remake and Resi Zero ported over to it but PS3 owners get left out. Fair enough we get Resi 5 but i would still like these other games aswel. Even if they look horrible with better hardware.
I got rid of my Wii coz of the lack of good games so i’m not buying another one just for these games.
Capcom won’t even release the original games on the PSN outside of Japan.

these days, exclusivity sells consoles
if xbox and ps3 had all the exact same games, people would just buy which ever console is cheapest
and also put yourself in the shoes of the people that make the games. res5 as example, do you think the makers would have sacrificed some awesome graphics to get it on the wii, because i don’t, there isn’t much of a market for resident evil 5 on the wii
The Wii got Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil 4.
The 360 and PS3 haven’t gotten a Resident Evil game until now…So, Wii has more RE action than the other consoles. No reason for Wii owners to feel upset. Plus, most Wii owners are casual players, and won’t really care that much about not getting RE5. The ones that do want RE5 most likely own a Wii and either a PS3 or 360, or all three. So they don’t care.

i think you missed the point,
he’s saying nintendo has has a lot of resident evil games up till now, and it must be frustrating that they cannot continue to play resident evil games
like imagine halo 1 and 2 was on 360, and then halo 3 came out only on ps3, xbox users would feel pissed off!!!

Exactly what i mean, it’s just things like that which really piss me off.
I know it won’t ever change because there will always be companies who offer huge amounts of money for exclusivity, but they are ripping alot of people off.
Oh another example:The original Xbox had Metal Gear Solid 2 (not sure about the 3rd one) released for it but now there has been no confirmation that MGS 4 will be released for the 360 due to the discs not being able to hold enough data as far as i know. Again though this is a prime example of people buying into a series on one console just to see any sequels being released on a completely different system altogether. Now the majority of people who owned the original Xbox will probably own the 360 aswel and i very much doubt they would have wanted to cough up all that money for a PS3 just to find out what happens to snake. So again they are missing out.

I didn’t miss the point Arthur, I was simply making a counter-point to his.
As far as NEXT-GEN consoles go, the Wii still has 2 resident evil games as opposed to PS3 and XBOX360 only having one. And I’m sure some sort of port will be made to the Wii, so it will be 3-1. No reason for Wii owners to complain.
