So at Capcom’s Brooklyn Street Fighter Club event this past Friday I got a chance to test out one of the upcoming Street Fighter IV Joysticks. Aside from my gripes about the joystick using an eight button layout instead of a traditional six button layout I must say that the josytick was pretty damn good. No those are not my hands in the video. HA! I actually tested it out after that guy in the video. It was dark in the event so it was hard to get bright footage.
The most notable thing about the joystick itself was the slant. The area where you would rest your wrist is slanted downward making the joystick more comfortable and ergonomic. It’s noticeable right off the bat and is a great design choice. The joystick had recessed start and select buttons on the back and the art on the joystick was good I guess but nothing to flip out about though who knows that may change as the joystick could have been a prototype so much could be subject to change. Hopefully, they don’t have the problems Sega did when they first released the VF5 sticks and I hope they keep making them for a while. Unlike Sega and the VF5 sticks which stopped production earlier this year.
