Gouki/Akuma killed Gouken/Sheng Long. Ken have master the move the Ryu have used to defeat and scar Sagat for life. The Shoryuken. Also, Ryu was about to hit the Super Haidoken, which IMO is no match for the Ragin Demon that Gouki/Akuma was about to perform. Ken just wanted a little taste of it before Ryu got destroyed.
