Corvette Mike gives us three tips for one of his favorite Call of Duty 4 maps.
Corvette Mike, a long-time member of the GameBattles community and veteran of the 2007 Boost Mobile MLG Pro Circuit, sat down with us to drop some knowledge on his latest gaming endeavor, Call of Duty 4.
As an experienced pro gamer, Mike has a knack for identifying the various advantages and disadvantages a map has to offer. In order to pass that knowledge to you, he has compiled a list of three tips for one of his favorite maps, Ambush.
Tip #1
My first tip is for snipers to become familiar with Ambush’s many different vantage points. With experience, you can begin to dissect the map in ways that best suit your sniping style. Ambush hosts a wide variety of elevated spots, enabling you to hold your breath and take aim. Both spawn points provide ample sniping locations which overlook the middle of the map, along with the opposing sniper positions.
Tip #2
The sewer tunnels are an area of the map which are largely overlooked. This is a small area, but one that has saved my life on more than one occasion. At any given moment during a round, you’re likely to hear grenades exploding near by. To avoid the grenades, simply take the short trip through the sewer tunnel and come out on the other end. While the opposing team is busy throwing grenades, you can lie bunkered near their fence. Wait for the perfect time and strike when they’re least expecting it.
Tip #3
One of my favorite spots on Ambush is what I like to call “red barrel building.” The spot is located on the far right street of Opfor Spawn, with a barrel on fire lighting up the staircase. There is only one way in it, but two ways out. Not many people realize you can jump out of the window to get out of harm’s way. Once inside, setting up claymores behind you will protect your back and I suggest carrying a desert eagle for back up. When top teams go against one another, this is always a key position to hold.
