King Arthur – Comparing Fifa 08 and PES 2008

Aight look, so it’s becoming one of the best feuds every year in gaming, pro and fifa both come out around the same time, and everybody argues over it, are you a fifa head, or a pro head?

so which is better? well personally overall i don’t think either is outrightly better and here’s why

Graphics – PES 2008, have to give it to pro evolution this year, the players are so accurate compared to fifa, don’t agree? look at carlos tevez on both games, and you will agree, trust me.

Game Modes – Fifa 08, has to go to fifa really, the manager mode is still pretty good, although not much has changed in the last few years, but be a pro mode is where fifa shines through this year, i’ve played it a lot of times now, it’s amazing, you really get a feel for what a players role is on the field…oh and masterleague for like the 6th year in a row, please.

Gameplay – PES 2008, it’s still the better game as far as gameplay goes, the players are so personalised this year that you actually feel like your playing with christinao ronaldo, steven gerrard or ronaldinho, as for fifa, well not too many players stand out as individuals, and the gameplay is not as good as pro, you just have to play it to realize this.

Sound – Fifa 08, with martin tyler and andy gray commentating it clearly beats the efforts of pro adding mark lawrensen into the commentary position, and the fifa soundtrack is much better than what can only be described as the “arcade music” you get on pro.

Online Play – Fifa 08, It has to be fifa this year, with be a pro mode breaking onto the scene, it really does make you feel like an individual online, with up to 10 players in a 5 on 5 match, be a pro online mode really does take fifa to the next level, and even in the one on one matches online in fifa 08, it is very competetive and does not lag as much as pes2008, pes2008 online is not that good, the lags literally do take the ball away from your players feet, it’s so annoying

you see there’s not much in it as far as i’m concerened, but the easiest way to some up why pro might have that little bit of edge over fifa, THESE ARE FOOTBALL/SOCCER GAMES, which basically means, the gameplay is thee single most important thing in each game, whatever modes are available, this only makes the game more fun if the gameplay is top quality, i mean the pro evolution franchise has been better in most peoples eyes, and it’s still only running with the masterleague which is just played out now, and the standard cups they always have and the same leagues every year…why? AWESOME GAMEPLAY!!!
